How to film a walking tour with front and back cameras
By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerOn supported iPhones, record front and back together: the back camera shows the street, the front shows you talking. Hold the phone at chest height with both hands, walk slowly, and use a mic or keep the phone close in wind.
Setup
- Dual-camera recording on iPhone XS, XR or later, in an app that supports it.
- A small handle or grip helps.
- A wind-protected mic for outdoor talking.
Walking
- Slow, smooth steps with bent knees.
- Pause at key spots to talk.
- Keep both of your hands on the phone.
Respect
Avoid filming people up close without permission, and watch where you’re going.
Questions
Which layout?
Picture-in-picture with the street large and you small usually works best.
